I was in Seattle for the one-gamer in 1995 against the Angels. More tension in every pitch of that game than in all of the games in September the M's had to win to stay in it, AND in all the playoff games after....Once in a lifetime experience.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08358581698190202529noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-980010523927297374.post-80533705264335443962009-10-06T16:07:43.387-04:002009-10-06T16:07:43.387-04:00Say, Mr. F, could you lose the gold background, so...Say, Mr. F, could you lose the gold background, so i can read the your damn blog? It's horrible and too dark to read, as is. Who thought of the dark gold background? The long season combined with the low number of teams that make it in gives the MLB playoffs a much more exclusive feel than the other major sports. The jury is still out, however, on whether the full-blown champagne celebrations are necessary after clinching each round...

I couldn't help but note that you stated that 16 of 29 NBA teams make the playoffs. Have I missed an inside joke or have you demoted my once-proud Sacramento Kings from the pro ranks?MrBennettarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17365378036057750443noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-980010523927297374.post-76503240747074141692009-10-06T11:06:14.492-04:002009-10-06T11:06:14.492-04:00Thank you, Junior, for writing that about Favre. They treat him like Jesus, despite the fact that, until Monday night, he was a marginal QB.

Did you see the Monday night game? Please write something on the MNF booth work. It was downright embarrassing how much they enjoyed kissing Brett's butt. Gruden actually said that 'he threw 5,000 balls a day.' It was awful to listen to.Nikhilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17038260377637200020noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-980010523927297374.post-40128749956652445002009-10-06T10:53:36.309-04:002009-10-06T10:53:36.309-04:00I heard this season's late start and conclusio...I heard this season's late start and conclusion blamed on the WBC, too, and believed it until the past couple of days.

Next year's schedule is out. Opening Day is April 5 most places; the regular season ends October 3. Given the extra days off in the post-season schedule to accommodate Fox, the World Series may not end until November 5, by my best guess.

November is a sweeps month for television advertising rates, and Fox has managed to push the end of the Word Series back to suit themselves. No one loves a good World Series more than I do, but it's almost enough to make one root for a sweep.Dana Kinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01350344882342624735noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-980010523927297374.post-78744478294497482082009-10-06T09:52:45.055-04:002009-10-06T09:52:45.055-04:00I don't follow Minneapolis/StPaul sports that ...I don't follow Minneapolis/StPaul sports that much, but they have had a pretty solid weekend of events going on. While I agree with 'its just a game' angle on the Vikings/Packers, I did find myself more excited to watch it than most. And I also found myself, while watching, forgetting about all the angst and back and forth with the will he won't he retire talk. He still plays with youthful vigor.

But it is baseball season now. I have watched so little this year, but always love the playoffs.Philnoreply@blogger.com
