I'm not even a Tech fan but boy have they gotten hosed by the committee. I thought (like you), that this was the year they punched their dance ticket. Guess not. There's always next year.Franklinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00236037230910292700noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-980010523927297374.post-92032404093455597382011-03-13T15:03:17.968-04:002011-03-13T15:03:17.968-04:00Nitpicking point, John. In a case like this, it's clear the Heat aren't exactly playing as a team out there.

I hope that, in the future, when a team like the Heat come along, you use the team's name in the plural.Artnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-980010523927297374.post-14179830945773344902011-03-11T09:29:50.678-05:002011-03-11T09:29:50.678-05:00It wouldn't surprise me if John and Tony are o...It wouldn't surprise me if John and Tony are on the outs over this. I think the issue blew up more than John expected, and Tony probably feels that John has talked about it more than he had to. Plus there's all sorts of weird subplots here, starting with the fact that the journalistic hero in this situation is McKenna (who has had a mildly famous run-in with Tony), and also that John talked about Tony's policy on Mike Wise's radio program (which Tony hates). But in discussing the great Wilbon-Feinstein feud of 2010, John made it clear that both he and Wilbon wished that the feud had been handled more like in the pre-twitter/blog/facebook days, i.e. privately. So I respect John and Tony's decision not to keep talking about it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-980010523927297374.post-46489206117379136102011-03-10T11:42:39.080-05:002011-03-10T11:42:39.080-05:00It would definitely seem that TK and JF are on the...It would definitely seem that TK and JF are on the outs. Major college sports is a sham, a joke. They should just change the rules, pay the players and license out the school colors and names and become semi-pro of some degree. The cheating (pure sliminess in covering it up) that goes on (maybe it always did, but we hear about it more now) that is either proven or alleged -- Southern Cal, Oregon, Auburn, Tennessee, Ohio State, Connecticut, North Carolina -- to name a few put a film of slime on whoever out there that is really doing it the 'right way.' I can't look at any school, any coach, and really say I'd be surprised if they either cheated, hid cheating or looked the other way to further the wins on the field or court. And then they always claim some sort of feigned ignorance that they know will get slurped up en mass.

In saying this, I know I'll still watch and enjoy some of the game day action, but at the top level, I know its probably done the wrong way.Timnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-980010523927297374.post-68285671079201297032011-03-08T13:11:55.836-05:002011-03-08T13:11:55.836-05:00Rory-- thanks for the note.Rory-- thanks for the note.FOTBhttp://www.feinsteinonthebrink.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-980010523927297374.post-89085174077744154482011-03-08T13:05:48.422-05:002011-03-08T13:05:48.422-05:00LBJ could have used two years at Ohio State.
